Today we went to the Library to listen to our finalists present their speeches to the whole Senior School. The Room 2 children did a fantastic job. They all spoke clearly, with lovely expression and looked at the audience often. We are very proud of them and wish them luck with the voting tomorrow! I think we have a great chance of getting some Room 2 people onto the Student Council! Well done!

Today some of us brought our bicycles and scooters in to practise the Road Rules and to get our Bicycle or Scooter licences issued. We had lots of fun and learnt how to ride safely on our way to school. Today we had our fortnightly PE lesson from Craig from Youthtown Sports. He taught us a fun version of Storm the Fort, where each team had to collect a variety of different balls to win. While that sounds easy, there were only a few of most of the balls and only one of the small blue balls, so we had to steal the balls from each other. It was heaps of fun and we worked really together in our teams. This week part of our homework assignment was to prepare a 1 to 3 minute speech on why we should be elected as part of the Student Council. The children all had to present their speeches to their House. The House then elected two people as finalists. These two people presented their speech again, but this time to the whole class. The Class then voted for one person from each house to go through to the Finals. This will be happening later this week.
Every day we play games and do Fitness in order to keep our brains and our bodies fit and active. Here we are playing Storm the Fort (also known as Capture the Flag). The Class Captains are doing a great job choosing different games to play. (The whole class made a list of games that we enjoy to assist with the decision-making process.) |
